LEAVES
AMC Networks offers multiple paid and unpaid leave options to allow employees time away from work to focus on big life events.
If you need help or have questions about your leave options, contact the AMC Networks Benefits Department at 1-646-273-7320 or [email protected].
Parental Leave
Full-time benefits-eligible employees can use paid and unpaid Parental Leave following the birth or adoption of a child:
- Paid leave: Up to six weeks (additional partially paid time off may be available in certain states)
- Unpaid leave: Up to 10 weeks
Parental Leave can be taken continuously or intermittently within 12 months of the birth or adoption, but you’re encouraged to take it within the first few months.
Parental Leave runs concurrently with other federal and state leaves, such as Family Medical Leave (FMLA). For example, six weeks of paid Parental Leave will account for six of the 12 weeks of FMLA for eligible employees.
Please request and coordinate Parnetal Leave with your manager as early as possible.
Caregiver Leave
Regular full- and part-time employees are eligible for up to six weeks of continuous or intermittent paid Caregiver Leave within a 12-month period to:
- Care for an eligible family member with a serious health condition, illness or injury
- Attend to an urgent matter if a family member is on or called to active duty military service
Caregiver Leave is paid at your base salary, or your average compensation from the past three months if you’re part-time. This leave runs concurrently with FMLA, CFRA, California Pregnancy Disability Law and any other applicable statutes. Unused caregiver leave is forfeited if you leave the Company.
To request Caregiver Leave, provide written notice and a medical certification completed by an authorized health care provider to the AMC Networks Benefits Department at [email protected].
For more information, view the Caregiver Leave policy.
Bereavement Leave
You have up to five consecutive days of paid bereavement after the loss of an immediate family member, and one day of paid bereavement for other relatives and friends.
Immediate family members include your:
- Spouse/domestic partner
- Children, stepchildren and grandchildren
- Siblings and siblings-in-law
- Parents and parents-in-law
- Grandparents and grandparents-in-law
Please notify your supervisor as soon as possible if you need to take bereavement leave. If you need additional time off, you can use any available paid leave, with supervisor approval.
